DEAD (and living) POETS SOCIETY!
June 24-28 | 10 am - 2 pm | Rising 6 - Rising 8 grade
Read, Write, Create, Workshop AND PERFORM poems in this interactive camp for new and aspiring poets and writers.
We will immerse ourselves in:
- reading and writing modern, classic, and new Insta and Blackout poetry
- learning techniques to improve the sound, rhythm, and music of our poems
- providing helpful feedback and edits for publication and reading
- publishing and performing poems at a community reading at BRAVE + KIND on our final day!
*Please submit 2 poems: an original poem and poem you really like (written by someone else) by June 10 to email@example.com.
Karen Javits is a teacher, writer, and more! She teaches English in Clarkston and has over twenty years experience teaching, inspiring and motivating kids, teens, and adults. She reads and writes poetry at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. Karen lives in Decatur with her husband, teen and tween daughters, Rebecca and Nina and pup, Lucy Rose.
